Old Nautical Telescope

Classic Nautical Telescope – Nautical Home Decor
This lovely telescope is crafted from brass and will magnify far away objects and landscapes with a clear image. The scope extends approximately to a full 15 1/2 inches and then can retract to fit into its own ornate wooden box. Due to this item being hand finished, some minor differences in cosmetic appearance may occur.
Galileo is credited with inventing the first refracting telescope. Through his understanding of how light passes through a lens, he was able to construct a device that focused on an image and enabled the user to see an object as though it were brighter, clearer or closer.
The magnification of this brass telescope is 12x.
